Andrew Serpell

3rd Degree Senior Instructor

Andrew began training when he was 19 years old, searching for a more street effective martial art style that focused on self protection.

Andrew is an incredibly talented and passionate practitioner. He is undeniably fast and powerful and enjoys pushing himself during training and is always open to learning and growing each lesson. He loves the personal development that ones gains from training, the discipline and focus that then flows through every area of one's life.

Quickly adapting to the Arakan style and falling in love with his own training, Andrew was motivated to become an Arakan Instructor, leaving behind an IT Business. He shared Arakan with all his friends and loved ones, and personally wanted the opportunity to teach others this amazing art with others.

Andrew is a passionate Instructor and loves empowering his students with fast and effective self defence techniques to protect themselves and loved ones in a real life street situation. He is one of the fittest guys in the club and balances fitness and conditioning with training to ensure his students have the mental, emotional and physical conditioning to manage a street situation and conflict. He is knowledgeable, approachable and genuinely wants the very best for you.

His students enormously benefit from Andrew's depth of knowledge, street style training as well as his goal is to heighten his students’ level of awareness, and learn to fight so well, that they never have to get into a situation, however if they do, they are then well prepared. He enjoys watching his students become more empowered, resilient, and stronger within themselves and believes he has found his passion and purpose teaching and sharing Arakan with others.

Some of Andrew's greatest Arakan achievements is grading his Orange Belt and becoming a Third Degree Senior Instructor. He also believes that watching his students develop and grow is the greatest achievement that any Instructor can have.

Interests outside of training include enjoying the Queensland lifestyle with his family and friends. Andrew enjoys being active and also playing and watching sport.

There are few better things you could do for yourself and your family. I started training 4 yrs ago with my Instructor, Andrew Serpell and would highly recommend it for any person, young or old, male or female. The benefits you gain are numerous. It will greatly improve your mental and physical health. You get a great sense of achievement as your skills develop. The support and encouragement you get from your instructors and fellows students is fantastic. Both my sons train as well and, as a parent, the peace of mind I have knowing the skills and confidence Arakan has given them is priceless!! As I said, there a few better things you could do!
