Supporting the Community

At Arakan Martial Art® we are extremely passionate about giving back to the community, which is why we’ve made a conscious effort to always support and aid those in our local community as well as overseas.

To date, we have sponsored over 22 children through World Vision, given generously to charities including The Domestic Violence Centre, Dreamworkers, Orangutans in Indonesia, the R.S.P.C.A, Guide Dogs Queensland, White Ribbon Foundation, as well as raised over $32,000 to aid the children of Burma after cyclone Nargis in 2008.

In 2014 Arakan Martial Art® began raising funds to build and run an orphanage and education facility in a remote area of Central Myanmar. Thanks to the generosity of our members and friends we successfully created one fully operational building that houses 92 children, and are currently working on a second.

As our club continues to grow, so does our involvement with valuable community projects that help those in need.

Myanmar Orphanage

Since 2015, Arakan Martial Art® have sponsored and built two orphanages in Myanmar, with approximately 90 children in each orphanage. We continue to support these orphanages as well as other disadvantaged children centres in Myanmar, as we help to improve the education and living conditions of the children. These are projects very close to our hearts.

2015 / 2016
Orphanage and Monastery Education Centre Shwe Pyi Thar Township, Yangone Division
During this year we provided materials and construction for a school building, sleeping quarters and the construction of a brick fence and gate. This provided shelter and schooling for over 89 students.

2017
We provided a monastery education centre and primary school for over 100 students in the Twelve Miles Region, Bago Division.

2019

Hle Gu Region, Yangon Division
Clothing, as well as various vitamins and medications were provided by us to over 50 children in the Hle Gu Monastery Education Centre.

Mohnyin Township, Kachin State
We were able to provide clothing, stationery (such as exercise books, pens, pencils etc) along with vitamins and medications to 190 children in the Mohnyin Monastery.

Education Centre - Myanmar Imannuel Christian Mission for Orphans and Disadvantaged Children.
At this centre we were able to provide clothing, floor covering and bedding along with essential sanitary items such as soap, toothpaste etc, for approximately 62 children. We also provided proper nutrition and lunch for approximately 60 children.

Mandalay, Upper Myanmar
A 6 month old baby presented at this centre after being born with no eyes, and instead had a large lump formed over where the child’s eye would have been. This large mass was growing rapidly on a weekly basis. We were able to ensure an operation was performed to remove the large growth, potentially saving the child’s life.
